Another Chapter in the X Saga
The story of X3: Albion Prelude is set in an era between the old X universe, and its newer counterpart. Nothing is certain in this fluctuating universe, and all manner of hazards are waiting around the corner. War breaks out between the Earth and various alien races, and various interplanetary corporations each attempt to grasp some power for themselves in the chaos. As the player, you will have to get as complete an overview of the happenings as possible: pay close attention to the financial and military state of the universe, and you will be able to assemble a strategy to survive.
A Melding of Different Genres
X3: Albion Prelude is a game that mixes elements from a number of different genres. In some ways it is an RPG; in others, a first person shooter; and in still others it is city-builder game. A successful player will need to master all of these aspects.
